BWCRU GENERAL BOARD MEETING NOVEMBER 19^TH,2008.

ATTENDING: Fern Rod, Eileen Locker, Cecily Gerla, Carole Beris, Nessa Tarchis, Maddy Krauser, Harriet Locke, Joan Haberman, Ferne Emas, Lois Feldman, Arlene Levine, Marcia Meyers, Faith Book, Eileen Siegel, Lorrie Grossman.

ABSENT: Nancy Fried, JoAnne Goldberg, Rita Seiff, Tutsie Lipkin, Gloria Berkowitz, Ruth Berkowitz, Fran Bernstein, Terri Cohen, Norma Davidson, Myra Jacobson, Sandi Kanin, Tina Kart, Arlene Karyo, Sandi Konsker, Maureen Kudler, Liz Maschler, Helene Miller, Debbie Steiner, Judy Whitman, Terri Wollins, Roz Wolpov.

The meeting was called to order by Fern Rod (acting for JoAnne Goldberg) at 3:30PM in the Bridgewood Meeting Room.

TREASURERS REPORT: Eileen Locker

From October to November 19, we took in $131,559.13. We expended $27,394.07 for a total income of $104,165.06. This month we gave $23,070.00 to the Pap Corps, and from June to date we gave $47,390.00. We have a balance of $126,871.72 in out checkbook.

MEMBERSHIP: CaroleBeris

We have 1,111 members: 402 yearly of which 126 still not paid.

We are working on a new letter which explains who we are, about our organization, etc.

We are also updating our labels and mailing list.

EDUCATION:

Kudos to Gloria Berkowitz for a great opening meeting.

February 11, 2008 - Education Day, Breakfast at Boca West. Dr. Falcone from the Hospital and Assistant Dean at FAU, will speak about the Hospital joining with FAU. We will also hear from a Cancer Survivor.

May 5^th- closing Breakfast, speaker will be Sharon Parker, author of “Look Out Cancer Here I Come”. We will also have Chance For A Cure Raffle- Marcia Meyers & Maureen Kudler Chairs.

CULTURAL ARTS:

January 14^th Art trip- waiting list. 2 groups 8:15AM-4:30PM & 10:00 AM-5:30 PM.

Lunch at Café Sapori.

February 6&7 Botero Exhibit – We have room for 50 people each day-We have 20 & 26 people so far. Lunch at Bellagio in City Place, $100pp.

March 8^th Cleopatra Ballet & Lunch at Columbia restaurant is Sold Out. $100pp. Judy Whitman, Eileen Stempel.

April 3^rd- Jewish Museum (Super heroes exhibit) with docent and lunch at Sam’s Deli, Holocaust memorial with docent. $80.pp Maddy Krauser & Cecily Gerla.

FUND RAISING: Fern Rod

Pap Angels and Royal Crown 3 new-, Friends & Founders: 8 total to date.

TRIBUTES: - Harriet Locke & Eileen Siegel- $3,465.collected for October.

Golf Tournament December 10^th- We have 50 foursomes, our goal is to have 72, like last year. Faith Book & Joan Haberman underwriting chairs- We have $35,750 so far, from corporate letters. Sandi Kanin overall event chair hopes to get 100% commitment from board. Please send in your checks.

Volunteers- Maddy Krauser many signed up day of Breakfast- revising volunteer application. Chairpeople must call volunteers to work.

NEW AND OLD BUSINESS:

If anyone purchases a handbag from Bonnie’s Loft , Bonnie will give us a check for 15% of purchase.We have $177. so far.

WEB SITE : Every month we receive an FYI sheet from the Pap Corps,this will be put on our Web Site monthly.

A Plaque was presented to Bridgewood thanking them for their generousity for giving us the meeting room for our use.

May 12^th Donor Luncheon at Boca hotel.

The Board Meeting scheduled for March 17^th has been changed to March 24^th.

Our next meeting will be December 17^th 2007 at 3:30 PM.
