BWCRU GENERAL BOARD MINUTES NOVEMBER 24TH 2008

ABSENT: Gloria Berkowitz, Norma Davidson, Lorrie Grossman, Joan Haberman, Sandi Konsker, Tina Kart, Arlene Karyo, Maddy Krauser, Arlene Levine, Harriet Locke, Marcia Meyers, Helene Miller, Marcia Raskin, Eileen Siegel, Terry Wollins.

The Meeting was called to order by President Nancy Fried at 3:30 PM in the Bridgewood Meeting Room.

TREASURERS REPORT: Eileen Locker

This month we took in $37,672.21. We spent $9,051.04, Total $28,581.17. We gave $8,275 to Pap Corps this month. To date we gave Pap Corps $15,455.

MEMBERSHIP: Carole Beris

Thank You to all who volunteered day of Opening Breakfast.

We have 1,142 new members, 40 of these are Men who joined as a result of Leslie Seiff’s hard work.

FUND RAISING: Faith Book

Plaques-1 $500 plaque, year to date $725.

Tributes- $4,230- $500 expenses, $3,728 for October.

Pap Angels- Ferne Emas, $1200 and verbal for 2 more.

Friends- Ferne Emas, $2558 to date.

Royal Crown- Marilyn Schulder, $3500 to date.

Card Party March 2nd 2009 Theme is “Smart And Sassy’ $100. Invitations will be sent out after the NewYear.

Golf And Tennis: We have $100,890 as of today. Expenses $5,958(stamps,gifts,decoration) except Band & Food. We have 129 paid golfers, commitments for 139 foursomes(156 golfers). 5 Tennis Players, 49 Dinner only. As of now we have a little over 200 coming to event, Last year 382, year before 404.

We sold $3500 worth of Raffles. $27,600 in Underwriting(Joan Haberman- Chair).

We have 3 items for LIve Auction- Diamond Necklace,Golf Cart, Painting.

Rita Seiff proposed motion to drop live auction and just have Silent auction. Motion Passed. We need donations for auction , Trips etc. Lorrie needs more help for Monday morning. Sandi met with Andrew re prices and menu for event.

EDUCATION: Fern Rod

Opening Breakfast very successful Thank you to Carole Beris Fern Emas and all who helped.We had over 270 people-we paid for 268-248 confirmed. At $12.95 pp it cost us $5,000.

Education Day January 26th 2009- we printed flyer- $10pp couvert for event.

February 7th trip to Sylvester- 11 confirmed. Bus and Box Lunch.

May 4th 2009 Closing Meeting -Chance for a Cure, Dr. Savage Rheumatologist- Executive Board voted to bring in a limited # of Boutique vendors, 5 or 6, instead of Neiman Marcus. We will charge $10 pp to cover costs and will hi-light our speaker.

Health Day- Judy Whitman

March 9th Deerfield Hilton Bkfst 8 AM -choose 2 seminars.

DONOR: Rita Seiff

The date for the Donor Luncheon has been changed to Friday May 1,2009. Same place. The closing date for donor credit is March 27.

CULTURAL ARTS: Roz Wolpov

January 12th BW Art Tour- 41 pd responses - 3 Homes Judy Bloomfield-large art collection, Natalie Olstein art and photography,and Home of Elkus. Lunch at Bonefish Grill and Banyan Art gallery afterwards.

Feb 13th Art Tour 78pd. Lunch at Trump International- Bus.

April 22&23 Norton Museum and Anne Norton House- Limit 50 to a group.

Ballet sold out, may be able to get 4 more tickets,

Looking for something of our own we can sell to raise funds.(Villa Borghese has a bracelet made of can tabs)
