BWCRU BOARD MEETING FEBRUARY 16, 2009

ATTENDING: Carole Beris, Faith Book, Franne Dickman, Lois Feldman, Nancy Fried, JoAnne Goldberg, Sandy Kanin, Arlene Karyo, Sandi Konsker, Maureen Kudler, Arlene Levine, Harriet Locke, Eileen Locker, Marcia Meyers, Fern Rod, Rita Seiff, Eileen Siegel, Roz Wolpov. ABSENT: Ruth Berkowitz, Gloria Berkowitz, Norma Davidson, Ferne Emas, Cecily Gerla, Tina Kart, Maddy Krauser, Marilyn Schulder, Nessa Tarchis, Terri Wollins. The meeting was called to order by President Nancy Fried at 3:30pm in the Bridgewood Meeting Room. TREASURERS REPORT: Eileen Locker This month we took in $53,547.65. We gave $60,715 to the Pap Corps this month. Total to Pap Corps so far $170,403. FUND RAISING: Faith Book Pap Angels $1800, Pap Friends $3,000, Tributes $3,206 (net $3,124.75) Coins For A Cure $101.80 WALK-A-THON: Lois Feldman reported $2,394 has been collected to this date. LUNCH & CARD PARTY: Arlene Karyo and Sandi Konsker reported 480 are attending to this date and they have collected $41,942. CHANCE FOR A CURE: Marcia Meyers reported that mailing part is complete and will be mauled out the day after the card party. ARTS & CULTURE: Roz Wolpov stated that the Feb. 13 art tour was a huge success. 86 attended, approximately $23,000 profit. Ruth Ann Beckerman underwrote the lunch. Norton trip is April 23. MEMBERSHIP: Carole Beris reported there are 1,153 members. 398 yearly members (92 unpaid) EDUCATION: Fern Rod Reported Jan. 26 meeting had 84 attending, collected $840. Our cost was $788.99. U/Miami Sylvester trip 7 attended. May 4 Closing Breakfast Meeting agenda is: Speaker Dr. Christine Savage, Rheumatologist, Chance for a Cure, 3 to 4 vendors participation at a flat fee of $125. DONOR: Rita Seiff Donor Luncheon cancelled. Taking a year off because of the economy and this is a Pap Corp decision. Donor credit will close May 22. NEW BUSINESS: Motion made to exchange positions for remainder of term: Cecily Gerla is be Membership Chair and Carole Beris is Recording Secretary. Norma Davidson will do the Membership Directory Presented Shop to Earn Concept and % of what's sold goes to the Pap Corp. $5. Coupons sold for shopping day at Macy's Anna Frackt, member displayed bookmarks, key rings as a possible future fund raiser. Next Board Meeting is March 23.
