BWCRU GENERAL BOARD MEETING APRIL 16^TH 2007

Attending: JoAnne Goldberg, Cecily Gerla, Carole Beris, Tutsie Lipkin, Nancy Fried, FernRod, Nessa Tarchis, Norma Davidson, Eileen Locker, Terri Cohen, Arlene Levine, Maddy Krauser, Susan Stark, Arlene Karyo, Harriet Locke, Roz Wolpov, Lois Feldman, Terry Wollins, Fran Bernstein, and Helene Miller.

Absent: Gloria Berkowitz, Tina Kart, Rita Seiff, Ruth Berkowitz, Ferne Emas, Lorrie Grossman, Sandi Konsker, Liz Maschler, Rosetta Melchior, Debbie Steiner, Myra Jacobson, Joan Haberman, Faith Book, Maureen Kudler, Judy Whitman, Marcia Meyer, and Eileen Siegel.

TREASURERS REPORT: Eileen Locker.

We took in $6,507.28; we spent $24,000.45 including $20,000.00 given to Pap Corps. Balance in check book $53,234.36. To Date we have given to Pap Corps total of $338,150.00.

MEMBERSHIP: Carole Beris.

Total membership 1,101- 678 Life members, 118 new annual and life members from June 2006 through present.

Revised Prospective Member Letter—when they join, we will send a packet which includes a Thank you note, Copy of The Rose, and a membership directory.

Motion proposed by Nessa to print directory for 2007-2008 and revisit every year whether to print for that year. Motion passed.

EDUCATION: JoAnne for Gloria Berkowitz

For closing meeting May 7^th we will have Dr. Koniaris as speaker. He is a Gastrointestinal Assistant Professor of Surgery.

Opening Meeting: November 8^th- Breakfast, Speaker & Fashion Show.

February 11^th, 2008 Education Morning at the club- Details to follow.

CULTURAL ARTS: Nancy Fried

Culinary day May 4^th Lois Feldman- We have 50 people – room for 10 more people.

Theatre Party – Summer show at Florida Stage August 1^st- “Marvelous Party” Noel Coward show- Matinee performance

Up and Coming- Jewish Museum Tour, Holocaust memorial and lunch.

January- visit to Artist at her studio in North Miami,etc.

FUND RAISING: Fern Rod

Tributes- $2,635.00 received for month.

Chance For A Cure-$31,700 gross to date

Pap Angel-2 new pledges started and completed-Total $2400.

Coins For A Cure : Terri Cohen, $7.43 collected.

We are still collecting ink cartridges from computers and cell phones. Terri is investigating new avenues to sell these products to.

DONOR: Rita Seiff (JoAnne for Rita)

Leslie has been helping Rita .while she is in rehab.- return charms to Rita if you want stones.

NEW BUSINESS:

For next year, 2007-2008,- some positions will be changing. Details will be announced in June. A new category will be added to the Board. This is Volunteer Chair.

This Chair will be responsible for keeping a list of all Volunteers and will coordinate with all functions throughout year.

Men’s Division Leslie Seiff working to create men’s division of BWCRU.

There will be no General Board meeting until the Fall.At that time we will have our meetings at the Bridgewood Meeting Room beginning in October. A list of dates will be posted on E-Mail and the Website.

Kudos to JoAnne for being a wonderful Board President!
